Teeny Tiny Teaching Tips – “helpful hints in many areas of life” Just a sampling of Joyce’s Tips:
o Foods – Serve one finger food each meal to help dexterity.
o Household – Putting shoes on the correct foot – draw smiley faces so that on the correct foot they will smile at the child.
o Left/Right – have the child wear a ring on his right hand.
o Motor – Ball – begin with rolling and move to tossing.
o Fine Motor -Start young, having the child pick up dry cereal or peas.
o Visual Perception – Create patterns with different kinds of blocks.
o Auditory Perception – Rhyming activities.
o Cutting Skills – Use scissors with play doh.
o Pencil Grip – Avoid wrong grips by using pencil grips.
o Handwriting – Print alphabet using one-inch squares – filling the squares with the letters.
o Giving directions – Limit the number of instructions and build as they are ready.
o Memorizing – Start with scripture memory. (p. 87-100)
